Interior design ideas to fill an empty base

An empty room is just a box. A few easy tricks with lighting, levels and small details will make your base feel lived in.

Start with lighting

Torches on every wall look messy. Hide lights under carpet, put lanterns on chains, or place glowstone behind trapdoors. Light that you can see but whose source is hidden always looks better.

Lanterns on chains and full bookshelves break up flat walls.

Break up flat walls

  • Frame walls with stripped logs every few blocks.
  • Use item frames as signs or shelves.
  • Add trapdoors as window shutters or cabinet fronts.
  • Put flower pots and candles on top of fences and slabs.
